This is another item I should have already had. Having a baby suddenly makes one more responsible when it comes to precaution and safety. In addition to a smoke alarm, a fire extinguisher is something everyone should have.

I could have used this a few years back when I had a small fire break out in the kitchen. I had put a cardboard box on the stove and didn’t notice the burner was on. Fortunately I was able to grab a flap on the box not engulfed in flames, rush it outside and hose it down, but having a fire extinguisher would have definitely helped save some of the hair on my arm.
